Soundcheck
Project Details
Soundcheck, an exhibition centred around DIY musical instruments, presented the opportunity. The challenge was to create a cohesive identity adaptable across various platforms, seamlessly transitioning from digital realms to print and the physical exhibition space.
Our primary hurdle was to devise an identity that truly encapsulated the essence of the exhibition experience. Given the interactive nature of the event, where visitors were encouraged to engage with and play the DIY musical instruments, we needed an identity that could resonate amidst the lively symphony of sounds within the space.
I drew inspiration from the playful and vibrant world of children's playgrounds and toys to address this challenge. I envisioned the identity as a colourful array of building blocks, serving as the framework to showcase typography and accompanying imagery. Additionally, I collaborated with animation experts to craft DIY animations reminiscent of children's creations to loop throughout the exhibition. The website design further amplified the playful essence, with interactive features such as sound-producing letters when rolling over exhibit titles, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
